Powerful CMSs are killing Dreamweaver

E-mail Print PDF

Dreamweaver is dying, Tom Arah has announced that. I also think so, because to me, many and many pages not generated by the typical web-design software, but produced by the powerful CMS, Joomla!, Drupal, etc.

Why we choose the brower to build our pages but not the traditional software?

  • The traditional software is large, slow and not update in time.
  • We can use online tools to build pages more effectively.
  • Online tools is cheap even free, most of them only use our bandwidth, and the cost of bandwidth is cheaper and cheaper.
  • The handset or other portable machine can use the internet to build pages/websites, but the traditional software is too large to install on them.

Now, the CMS such as Joomla! or Drupal are so powerful. Once you pick up a new requirement, the supporter can make a plugin to match it.
